Some young people need immediate help and cannot sit on the waiting list.

Some examples we have dealt with:

• A pupil is on a ‘managed move’ to a new School and needs help as part of their settling-in package
• Two months before their GCSEs, a pupil hears their parent is being released from prison
• A young person is struggling at School having moved with mum to a women’s refuge to escape their violent father

In such cases, where there is a source of funding, such as pupil premium money or some personalised funding attached to a CAF, we can work with you to provide a ‘Fast-track’ intervention. This is usually up to 12 sessions and is arranged immediately. The following Schools and Services have supported young people with ‘fast-tracks’: HCC Integration Team, HCC Thriving Families Team, Queens’ School, St Michael’s Catholic High School, St Clement Danes, Dacorum Education Support Centre, Hertswood Academy.

We have also been able to respond when institutions have been thrown into turmoil by a student suicide. We have been able to meet young people at short notice and provide holding support at a time of crisis.
