On Saturday 10th February, the first Hemel Wellness Fest was held at St Mary’s and St Joseph’s Parish Centre in Boxmoor.

Hemel Wellness Fest worked as a showcase for local small businesses from Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley and Berkhamsted who came together to share their knowledge, experience and skills in helping to make people feel better in themselves, and to raise funds for our charity supporting young people’s emotional wellbeing.

Organised by Maria from Boxmoor Yoga, a number of local organisations supported the event by offering up their Saturday afternoon to run pay-as-you-feel session to those who attended … and they must have felt the benefits as the event raised just under £500 for Signpost through not only the pay-as-you-feel experiences but also herbals teas and a silent auction with prizes donated by the amazing businesses who took part; Ametrine Reflexology, Berkhamstead Botanicals, Yoga & Yarrow, Jenna’s Forever, Mulberry Wellbeing, Live & Breathe Pilates who all offered a taster of their health and wellbeing therapies. We also had Ali offering massage therapy, Karen From Boxmoor Acupuncture offering … acupuncture 🙂 and Sarah Davey offering advice on how people can improve their posture and balance through the Alexander Technique, amongst others.

Our thanks must go to Maria from Boxmoor Yoga for organising such a great event, and for supporting the work that we do as well as all the businesses who took part and the embers of the public who attended. Thank you 🙂

Lots of information on the Hemel Wellness Fest page including details of how to contact the professionals, so if you’re on Facebook, have a look and perhaps ‘Follow’ it so you’re aware of the next one well in advance 😉
